Athens; Enjoy from a Roof Top

Roof-Top-Athens-300x85One of my most memorable evenings in Athens was the first time I dined in a roof top restaurant admiring the Parthenon from afar.  Here is a llist of some favorites scattered around the city of Athens where you are almost always guaranteed a starry summer night.

  • Grand Bretagne Roof Garden: One of the best hotels in the city with an ideal location with famed views of the Acropolis & Parthenon.  Located @ Syntagma Square.  Tel. 210.3330000
  • Kitromilo: Located a bit further downtown this Cypriot inspired casual restaurant featuring many specials from Cyprus.   Located @ Panormou Avenue & Alexi Pavli Street 34.  Tel. 210.6910590
  • Kuzina: Home of Chef Airs Tsanaklidis this gem offers both domestic & Fusion dishes. Located @ Adrianou Street 9.  Tel. 210.324.0133
  • Olive Garden:  As the name implies you will dine surrounded on this roof top by Olive Trees.   Located @ Panepistimiou Street 52.  Tel. 210.3838511
  • The Balkoni Stis Kyklades: This gem has a balcony with a great view serving great specials from the Cyclade Islands.  Located @ Pavlou Mela Street 13.  Tel. 210.7640240
  • Varoulko: This fine dining establishment featuring modern Greek Cuisine will have you begging for more where you must try the fish. Located @ Piereos Avenue 80 Tel. 210.5228400
  • Vasilainas: Established in 1920, this spot keeps going with an array of fine specialties.  Located @ Aitolikou Street 72 Tel. 210.4612457
